Good to hear from you. I don’t think I ever replied to your invitation to ride a section of the West Coast: a thousand apologies. I had a few plates in the air for a while then.
Delighted to do this, of course. I have a hardback copy of the US edition here. Shall I inscribe this and post it? Any special words (‘Stop dropping me, you ******’ sort of thing)? And where to post it to?
I look forward to our paths crossing too. There is an open invitation to you to come and stay with us and ride the Welsh hills whenever you’re in the UK. It’s good riding. I think you’d like it. We’re a 2 1/2 hour train ride west of London.

We’re down the path with the Carl Strong (see below) and the components, and we know just what he wants because of your book and the group’s comparing of dream bike notes that occurred after.
When we give him the gift – which will be a Carl Strong medallion and a box of carefully sourced and individually wrapped components – we’d love to include an autographed copy of your book. It would be the iceing on the cake.
Would you be willing? We’d of course be willing to handle the logistics so all you’d need to do is sign…
Looking forward to paths or, better yet, wheels crossing.
